Fifteen people attending Saturday’s game between the Kansas City Chiefs and Miami Dolphins were hospitalized due to frigid conditions, including seven treated for hypothermia and three for frostbite, the Kansas City Fire Department told KMBC in Kansas City.
In total, KCFD said it received 69 calls from Arrowhead Stadium on Saturday, either from the stadium itself or the parking lot, with half of them being related to hypothermia.
The temperature in Kansas City during the game reached below zero, with wind chills as low as 20-below zero, resulting in one of the coldest playoff games in NFL history. Despite the conditions, fans attempted to embrace them instead of hiding from the cold.

However, several fans ultimately needed to be checked out as a result of sitting through the cold. The hospitalization numbers do not include fans who were checked at first aid stations in the stadium or fans who walked into KU Medical Center aid stations outside the stadium.
