Johnny Nelson has told talkSPORT that Anthony Joshua should not have taken the Francis Ngannou fight next as the risk outweighs the reward.
AJ was originally supposed to face Deontay Wilder, but when the American lost in December these plans collapsed.

He has since signed to fight Ngannou on March 8, following the ex-UFC heavyweight king’s stunning performance against Tyson Fury in October.
However, former cruiserweight world champion Nelson is worried that defeat could ruin Joshua’s legacy by leading fans to only remember him for the upset loss.
Nelson sparked debate with his original comments on the matter, but clarified his point on White and Jordan on Thursday as he explained: “Let me just get it right – I said it’s if Joshua loses to Ngannou in his second professional fight.
“Joshua, former two-time heavyweight world champion, [despite] everything he’s done the public are gonna be left with that loss to a guy in his second professional fight, forgetting all he’s achieved.
“I said the risk/reward doesn’t add up.
“If I was Eddie Hearn, if I was Joshua’s promoter, I wouldn’t have taken the fight because the risk/reward doesn’t weigh up.
“If you lose to him, where are you gonna go from there?
“What’s it gonna do to AJ’s head, thinking, ‘I just lost to this guy, what’s going on here?’

“He might be getting paid handsomely, all these things might work out well, but as a businessman I just wouldn’t have done it.
“Eddie’s defending his position on this fight, which he poo-pooed originally when Fury took it.”
Upon hearing about Nelson’s original comments on the topic a few days ago, Hearn branded him a ‘hater’.
Nelson replied on Thursday: “Of course listening to how the question’s posed to Eddie, of course he’s gonna say that. These things are taken out of context.
“It’s common sense what I’m saying – you can’t say I’m a hater because I’m just speaking the truth.
“If I was AJ, and had achieved everything he’s achieved, to lose to Ngannou, I’m gonna think, ‘How could I possibly lose to this guy, it’s his second professional fight?’
“So that’s why I expect AJ to go out there and get the job done.
“I’m not forgetting everything he’s achieved, because what he’s achieved is amazing.”
