Wincanton betting tips

12.55: Queen Annie 9/4 (1pt)

A few of these have form lines together but that makes it all the more tricky to back some of these outsiders based on the fact they didn’t improve next time out.

Queen Annie is set to carry 7lb less than the favourite who won well on debut but it’s difficult to know just how good that victory was.

The tipped horse placed just a few lengths off of the impressive Alfie’s Princess late last month, on just her first run over hurdles and is set to improve on her second run of the season and second run since having a wind op in August.

Alfie’s Princess has gone up in the weights and if there’s improvement from this mare she should lay down a good challenge to Kay Tara Tara.

The horse close up in third on Kay Tara Tara’s victory isn’t close in the ratings with Alfie’s Princess, and with these still very unexposed there’s a great chance she’s got better value stepping up in trip.

1.30: West End Boy 4/6 (2pts)

West End Boy was a cosy winner on his latest run and Freddie Gingell didn’t need to push him out to win by much to ensure victory.

As a result he’s upped over 10lb and sets the clear standard here in what should be a very cool ride from the serial winner Harry Cobden.

3.15: Take Your Time (to place) 10/11 (2pts)

Cobden and trainer Paul Nicholls are the top jockey and trainer at Wincanton.

The jockey already has five wins from just 13 rides giving him a 38% strike-rate here, while the in-form leading trainer has nine wins from 23 runners, equating to a 39% strike-rate.

There may not be enough for this horse to win this time around but his win over Investment Manager was impressive on heavy ground on his chase debut and that suggests there’s more on offer here, albeit with a tough couple of rivals to beat, but is a great play to place instead.

Market Rasen betting tips

1.05: Take No Chances (to place) 4/7 (2pts)

There’s no doubt the first two in the betting will give it a great battle to the line.

4/6 on the favourite, The Doyen Chief, could well be justified come the end of this race but it’s possible the yard who do wonders with their hurdlers have a lovely chance with Take No Chances.

She won nicely on her hurdle debut at 9/4 and even beat Della Casa Lunga with ease in third.

There’s certainly signs this horse can go on to be nicely rated, she also showed promise on the flat behind Dysart Enos in listed company and so has the pace needed when it comes to it.

Treble: Take No Chances and Take Your Time to place and West End Boy to win 4/1 (1pt)

This looks a great bet to insure a nice return off a small stake, perfect for those not wanting to risk too much going into a busy weekend.
