On a night when LeBron James praised Lamar Jackson, the likely NFL MVP was crowned early by teammate Odell Beckham Jr.
Beckham playfully interrupted Jackson’s live TV interview after the Baltimore Ravens trounced the Houston Texans 34-10 on Saturday in an AFC Divisional Round game.
While Jackson was being asked about his dominating four-touchdown performance and reaching his first AFC Championship game, Beckham appeared from off camera to wrap a gold Top 10 necklace around the neck of the Ravens’ franchise quarterback.
“MVP! MVP!” sang a dancing Beckham, who clearly enjoyed the win.
Jackson immediately started smiling and laughing, giving a nod to his veteran teammate.
A tough 10-10 tie at halftime ended as all Baltimore, as Jackson took over in the second half.
He finished with 100 rushing yards, 152 passing yards and four touchdowns.
The Ravens will find out their Championship Game opponent on Sunday, with either Buffalo or Kansas City facing the AFC’s No. 1 seed.
Beckham only had one catch for 12 yards against the Texans.
But the Ravens put up 34 points while outscoring Houston 24-0 in the second half.
Jackson again reminded NFL fans why he won the MVP in 2019 and was the 2023 favorite entering the playoffs, ending the Texans’ storybook season and collecting a big playoff win.
“That’s why he’s the MVP,” Houston head coach DeMeco Ryans said.
James felt the same way, taking to X during the game to heap praise on Jackson.
“Man I LOVE Lamar Jackson!!!!!” James tweeted with pride.
