A mural dedicated to Jurgen Klopp has been unveiled in Liverpool, but some fans aren’t too impressed.

The Reds boss announced in January that he will leave the club at the end of the season following an excellent nine years in charge.

Klopp has led Liverpool to success in all the major competitions both on the domestic and European fronts, and is eyed as a club legend.

With the end of the season fast-approaching, the number of games he has left in charge whittles down every few days.

But Klopp will certainly not be forgotten when he leaves the city of Liverpool and a new mural of him was unveiled.

It is located on the side of a building on Slater Street and features a glass of German beer Erdinger, with the brewery’s logo also seen.

However, fans on social media didn’t seem to keen on the addition as one on X said: “It’s so annoying that these are all adverts now.”

“Whatever authentic mural culture existed is getting totally taken over by the brands,” added a second.

A third said: “Yeah. This is trash tbh. Unclear why there has to be a brand involved.”

“Not a fan, just looks like a big advert,” added a fourth, with the mural painted by local artist John Culshaw.

Klopp, who has had a previous mural near Anfield, has been an ambassador for Erdinger since 2019 and starred in a television advert for them, where he shouted: “Never skim an Erdinger!”

The brewery also made limited edition cans that featured his face and autograph on them after Liverpool’s Premier League title win in 2020.

Erdinger could be making preparations to do something similar at the end of this season, with Klopp eyeing a treble in his last weeks at the club.

Liverpool have already won the Carabao Cup and currently sit top of the Premier League ahead of Arsenal and Manchester City.

They are also in the quarter-finals of the Europa League, with the Reds potentially set for a historic final campaign under Klopp.
