Jurgen Klopp walked out of a TV interview having accused a reporter of asking a ‘dumb question’ after Liverpool’s FA Cup exit.

The Liverpool boss was speaking to the media after his side suffered a heartbreaking 4-3 defeat to rivals Manchester United in what was a mesmerising cup tie.

Liverpool had the tie in their grasp with goals from Alexis Mac Allister and Mohamed Salah putting them on course for a 2-1 win.

However, an equaliser from substitute Antony on 87 minutes saw the match at Old Trafford go to extra time.

The away side then retook the lead through Harvey Elliott’s deflected strike in the first half of extra time but they were pegged back again through Marcus Rashford’s goal on 112 minutes.

A penalty shootout seemed certain until Amad Diallo struck in the final seconds of extra time to give Man United the win and end Liverpool‘s hopes of achieving a Premier League, FA Cup, Europa League and Carabao Cup quadruple.

Klopp was naturally disappointed after the game but didn’t take too kindly to the line of questioning from a journalist working for Viaplay Sports.

After being asked about his side’s intensity dropping in extra time, Klopp fumed: “That’s a bit of a dumb question.

“If you see us often, you can ask us the other times why we have so much energy.

“I don’t know how many games we’ve had recently and how many Manchester United have had. That’s sport.

“I’m really disappointed about that question, but you thought obviously it’s good.”

The reporter then responded: “So too many games?”

A furious Klopp hit back, saying: “Oh you don’t think that. Come on!

“You are obviously not in a great shape and I have no nerves for you.”

The German then proceeded to leave the interview early to the surprise of the reporter.

Liverpool won the Carabao Cup last month and are in the quarter-finals of the Europa League, as well as being well in the hunt to win the Premier League title as they sit behind Arsenal on goal difference.
