Antonio Conte is reportedly a top target for the Bayern Munich job when they bid farewell to Thomas Tuchel this summer.

The Italian has been out of work since last March when he left Tottenham by mutual consent amid a disappointing run of form.

Prior to his spell in north London, Conte won Serie A with Inter Milan and Juventus and lifted the Premier League title with Chelsea in 2017.

Having experienced such success across Europe, he remains one of the top managers in football and could be in line for a new job soon.

As reported by la Repubblica, Conte is the ‘first name’ on Bayern’s list of options to replace Tuchel at the end of the season.

The German will leave after a little over a year in charge as success in the Bundesliga and Champions League looks unlikely.

Conte is said to have been contacted a few months ago and is the ‘priority’ for the club, but negotiations are not set to be easy.

His potential appointment at the Allianz Arena could have huge implications on the future of Xabi Alonso.

Bayern have opened talks with the Spaniard as he looks set to guide an unbeaten Bayer Leverkusen to the Bundesliga title.

Liverpool have also been heavily linked with Alonso as they prepare to say goodbye to Jurgen Klopp in the summer.

A move to Bayern would see Conte manage in Germany for the first time in his career having only worked in Italy and England.

He was previously linked with the Napoli job amid pressure on Rudi Garcia, who has since been replaced by Francesco Calzona.

The opportunity to work at Bayern would certainly be one that is too good to turn down, especially with Harry Kane leading the line.

Conte would therefore be reunited with the England captain, who played under him during his final season at Spurs.
