Fury rages at Usyk’s manager over ‘coward’ comment and ‘b****’ misunderstanding

Tyson Fury insisted he is no ‘f***ing coward’ as he raged at Oleksandr Usyk’s manager Egis Klimas over his recent comments.

The highly anticipated undisputed heavyweight world title fight was postponed on Friday after Fury suffered a serious cut in sparring.

February 17 was the original date in which all four belts were going to be put on the line in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, but this has now been rescheduled for May 18.

Fans will now have to wait even longer for one of the biggest fights in boxing history amid the injury suffered by Fury.

Usyk’s manager Klimas was less than impressed about the news and called his client’s opponent a ‘f***ing coward’ in an interview on Friday.

Just a day later, he and Fury clashed on an MMA Hour live stream to announce the rescheduled date, with the ‘Gypsy King’ wanting to set the record straight.

“Egis, never call me a coward again. I’ve had 35 professional fights, I’ve been boxing 18 years of my life. I’ve climbed off the canvas ten times off the biggest punchers in history to win.

“Never a coward, never backed down from any man in my life and if any man calls my wife a b****, I’ll take your f***ing teeth out!”

Klimas claimed Fury ‘asked his b**** to hit him with a frying pan in his brow’, with the heavyweight champion thinking he was talking about his wife Paris.

However, Klimas insisted that isn’t what he meant, saying: “I didn’t call your wife a b****, I don’t do that s***.”

Fury replied: “Well I’ll apologise for that then because I thought you said that about my wife, and I’m no f***ing coward! I’ve boxed all my life and I’ve ducked nobody.

“How can you call me a coward? You’ve never boxed in your life! How am I a coward?

“I’ve had 35 professional fights, I’m a two-time undefeated heavyweight champion, I’m the second longest reigning lineal champion in history. How am I a coward?”

His Excellency Turki Alalshikh, who chairs Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority (who are staging the fight), also joined the call and said that both boxers have promised to forfeit $10million if they pull out of the fight.

As well as this, Usyk will get to face a fighter of his choosing if Fury was to withdraw but if his Ukrainian opponent pulls out, Alalshikh wants the ‘Gypsy King’ to fight Anthony Joshua on the new date.
