Bruno Fernandes felt the wrath of Brazilian pair Casemiro and Antony in his side’s 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace.

The Manchester United midfielder scored his team’s opener at Selhust Park, but found himself in the firing line twice, with Casemiro apparently frustrated with his teammate when being booked.

The midfielder was booked for a heavy challenge on Wilfried Zaha and will now miss the Premier League game with Arsenal on Sunday due to it being his fifth yellow card.

“It was a moment of madness,” Sky Sports analyst Jamie Redknapp said when discussing the Brazilian’s booking.

“You could see Casemiro was furious with Bruno Fernandes, who jumped out of a challenge.

“That’s why he ends up one-on-one with Zaha and he gets booked. It could have been a red card. It’s a scandalous challenge. It’s reckless.

“I could just see [Arsenal manager] Mikel Arteta when that happened dancing around his living room because he is so important to Man United. They have got no-one who can do what he does in the team.”

Fernandes had lost possession to Tyrick Mitchell in the build up to Casemiro’s last-ditch challenge on Zaha.

The Palace talisman had been bursting in to the box after Mitchell danced passed Fernandes, leaving Casemiro little choice in challenging him.

And footage after the booking shows the Brazilian was fuming with his fellow midfielder for his role in the incident.

Fernandes had already found himself getting into a heated discussion with other teammate Antony in the first half of the game, too.

It was a frustrating night for Man United, with Palace scoring a 91st minute equaliser through Michael Olise’s free-kick.

Casemiro’s yellow card seemed to knock the wind out of Man United’s sails as they missed out on the chance to go second in the league.

But United manager Erik ten Hag was keen to point out his players beat Arsenal without their summer signing in the starting line-up earlier in the season.
